Introduction to Coding

This is the class for any kid who has ever played a video game or watched a cartoon and wondered how they were made. We introduce students to Scratch, a coding language created by MIT that is designed to help kids learn how to code. This class combines technology and creativity as kids learn the basics of coding and how to apply their knowledge to make video games and animations. The more they learn, the more details and effects they can add, which makes them want to learn more. This is a class for the beginner coder and no previous experience is necessary. Please note: students must have a computer, not a tablet. It is also recommended but not required that campers use one computer to code and another device (tablet, computer) to participate in the Zoom class at the same time.
